It has been spewing a blanket of 3000m ash into the air and caused negative consequences like disrupted train services, closed schools and some canceled domestic flights, even ejected small rocks from the eruptions having broken windows in many buildings and cars. The ash cloud also forced the closure of Northern Ireland, Scottish, Norway, Denmark and the UK air space on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. In the middle of Wednesday, flights in and out Bremen and Hamburg retuned to normal when the ash level was announced “no longer critical” by the German air traffic control agency.
