It is Great Gorilla Run that runners started in central London in front of the Minister Court, ran along the Thames to St. Paul’s Cathedral, past Tower Bridge and finished at the Tate Modern Art Gallery. It is held every year to raise money for saving the endangered primates by Great Gorilla Organization because the number of gorillas in the world has been declining rapidly. If nothing is done soon, gorillas may be known as an extinct species. In fact, Great Gorilla Run is not only funny but also meaningful. This 7th edition of the Great Gorilla Run had the participation of over 700 “gorillas” for a 7-km run through London. All of them were dressed in different gorilla suits including Scottish costume, businessmen, cricket gear and so on. The organizers expect to raise £250,000 when sponsorship ends in November. read more
