By: John Stevens | 2011-01-13 | Art The 26th annual International and Snow Sculpture Festival 2011, one of the world's four largest ice and snow festivals, along with Japan's Sapporo Snow Festival, Canada's Quebec City Winter Carnival and Norway's Ski Festival, is being hosted in Harbin, northeastern China and attracts thousands of local residents as well as tourists. Massive ice buildings are placed nearby Songhua River while large-scale sculptures and ice slides can be found in several parks around the city. At night, visitors have opportunities to see the lights switched on, illuminating the sculptures from both inside and outside.
