Northeastern Japan has just been slammed by a 10 meter tsunami after the 8.9 quake which struck about 400km from Tokyo. The tsunami wept away everything in its path, including houses, cars and farm buildings, and so on. 18 people are confirmed dead, 200 others were washed away, with several others missing during the disaster on the Sendai Island. People are still being evacuated to higher ground in coastal areas in order to survive from the powerful waves. According to Jiji Press news agency on March 11, 2011, the data collected by the police shows total dead and missing people are about 1000 people and now at least 384 people were found losing their lives, 947 injured in this natural disaster. Besides, it is reported that 100 people and their ships swept away by tsunami while a train with an unknown number of passengers aboard also disappeared.
