By: Cy Hilterman | 2010-04-01 | Book Reviews I didn't know what to expect when Kathleen sent me this book. I know some things about the Catholic Church but not a whole lot. Many of us, Catholics or Protestants, hear and read things good and bad about the leaders of the smallest church to the highest deity. Unfortunately, too much of what we have heard over the past few years has put those few priests that actually disavow their regulations and cause much of the negative talk, in the spotlight. We all know that those are few but the author does tell of leaders and their behavior, habits, how they live, and how much good or bad can occur in their chosen profession. read more

By: Paul hussey | 2010-09-09 | Science I though as England has produced so many famous inventors and engineers I thought it may be of interest to write this short article on the world's first Steam Engine. Edward Somerset (1601 – 1667) was an English nobleman involved in royalist politics; he was also an inventor. In the book he authored in 1655 of over 100 inventions, the power and applications of what would become the steam engine are clearly described. read more

Henry, captures the fidelity and the disenchantment, the dedication and the disillusionment that has emerged within the Catholic Church for over nine decades. Henry uses fictional accounts of intertwined stories of people's lives to expose the impact of the church's unyielding dictates and traditions which are so firmly entrenched within the doctrines of the Catholic Church and the Mass. read more
