By: Evin Daly | 2010-03-31 | News and society In writing a tribute to Michael Jackson I find that I can't. There's just not much to be said about the shell of a man long past his career prime. A man who resembles little of what he was when he was the undisputed King of Pop. In coming up with a tribute I can only say this. Any tribute is not to the person who died bankrupt in his rented palatial home in LA; it is for the brilliant music he produced in the early 1980s. When I think of Jackson, that's what comes to mind. read more

By: Nkorni Tankwa | 2010-03-31 | Music Today marks the end of an era. Even as I write this article, the words Michael Jackson is dead seems surreal. For these are words that were not suppose to be uttered anytime soon if at all. Not because he was only 50 years old, but because at some level we still had to come to terms with the fact that he was a mere mortal. read more

By: David Armaan | 2010-03-30 | Arts & Entertainment He's really gone...and now all we can do is haltingly flashback to a kaleidoscope of memories. We are left with memories that bookends the innocence of "ABC" to the idealism of "We are the World" and the introspection of "Man in the Mirror". Losing him is like returning to our old neighborhood and finding our favorite places gone. We struggle to get our minds around this; but ultimately we recognize that this is a vacancy that can never be filled. read more

By: Leslie Choudhury | 2010-03-28 | Success I think MJ is someone we can all learn from, especially about sales, marketing, branding and image. This guy knew how to sell. Forget about his slew of problems with the law etc. Let's face it, we should all be so good at what we do to have people talking (and writing articles) about us for 30+ years non-stop, and around the world. By: Paul Davis | 2010-03-31 | Arts & Entertainment Cher said it best when talking to Larry King about Michael Jackson. "Michael was touched and had something special from God." I could't agree more! Unfortunately I feel Michael restled with his manhood, identity, and as he so eloquently sang "the man in the mirror." Yet Michael beautifully looked beyond himself to marvel and amaze us all with his brilliance as a songwriter, his moves as a dancer, his wow factor as a performer, and his boldness to be true to himself no matter what the media said about him. read more
