By: Jared Mcginty | 2011-01-19 | Home improvement How do I make a battery powered Tesla coil(obviously quite small)? I've seen those mini ones as well, some smaller than a 9 volt battery. But I want to make it as large as possible while using batteries only. I built a battery powered Tesla coil myself. read more
By: Jared Mcginty | 2011-01-07 | Home improvement Power is applied to the Tesla coil system by the primary transformer. This voltage, although high, is not nearly enough to jump the spark gap so that it can get to the primary coil. Instead, the only place that it can go is to the capacitors, where it builds up until it is able to jump the gap and run through the primary coil. When the power runs through the primary coil, it sets up a magnetic field inside the coil. read more
By: Jared Mcginty | 2011-01-17 | Home improvement I've seen some schematics of Tesla coils, and I noticed that they had capacitors and a spark gap at the primary coil of the last transformer, are these absolutely needed and why? In order to understand why Tesla Coils use spark gaps and capacitors, you need to understand more about resonance. So you might want to do some research into that when you have a chance. (Although not all Tesla Coils use spark gaps). read more
By: Sarin Carlson F | 2011-01-06 | Diy Nicola Tesla is my favorite dude ever. The Tesla coil is essential designed to send unsafe voltages into people resulting in mortification boojau. People say it's not possible to get "overunity", but obviously energy can be made free because Tesla did it over a hundred years ago. So how did he make his generator generate 60 cycles, or 55.5, or 50, or whatever it was. I'm assuming he built his first generator with magnets, not electromagnets. read more
By: Sarin Carlson F | 2011-01-06 | Diy I've played around with a Van de Graaff generator before in the special projects program at my school and I've seen a Tesla Coil in action at the McWane Center in Birmingham, AL. I know about the inner working of the Van de Graaff gen. Rubber belt, copper wire, steel ball, motor. Easy enough. But what about a Tesla Coil? read more

By: Jared Mcginty | 2011-01-14 | Home improvement The one thing I don't get is do Tesla Coils Actually Make Music. The other question is how? When they make a spark, the heat expands the air, suddenly, producing sound waves. If the drive voltage is switched into bursts of pulses so that the bursts are spaced in time, one burst per cycle of the desired sound frequency, sound can be produced at any desired frequency. read more
By: Munxi Tran | 2012-03-04 | Electronics The reason people are interested in this secret Tesla Generator device is because it has the potential to solve our energy problems, because the Tesla machine is capable of making electric currents without an input it's potential is enormous. read more
By: Sarin Carlson F | 2011-01-10 | Diy What is a Tesla coil? vandergraaf?, Is there a difference between a Tesla coil and a vandergraaf generator? if there is what is it? With a Tesla Coil, an air-core step-up transformer is used to produce long sparks. On the other hand, a Van de Graaf Generator(a.k.a vandergraaf) operates like an automated version of Faraday's Ice Bucket. read more
By: Sarin Carlson F | 2011-01-07 | Diy I've seen them. I've seen them produce lightning's. But what is it good for? It's called a "generator" ... does it mean it can be used as an electricity generator? A power source? Is it fuelless? If it is, where does it get power? read more
By: wholesaleeshop | 2010-12-22 | Arts & Entertainment The phrase "drivers inside the DIS charge and fire the coils" has been around for years, and for many people, it is the only description of how the DIS ('distributorless ignition system' module) and coil interact that they've heard. It is easy to conclude that the DIS is charging up the coils similar to how a battery charger or generator or alternator charges up a battery, right? read more

By: Sarin Carlson F | 2011-01-10 | Diy I am building a Tesla coil and want to know how big to make it to power my house? My house contains three chest freezers and two refrigerators, a well pump, a washing machen, computer, tv, and a number of lights. Well, you need to take into account the law of conservation of energy. You cannot get power for your entire house from a single coil. read more
