The discoveries consist of 2 mammals, 24 species of frog, 9 plants, nearly 100 insects and about 100 spiders. It was reported that the project was implemented by Conservation International’s rapid assessment programme, Papua New Guinea's Institute for Biological Research and A Rocha International Conservation Organization. Scientists explored different altitudes, cave systems and rivers throughout Muller and Nakanai ranges. They accessed remote areas by plane, helicopter and even on foot. read more
