The Pakistan Taliban immediately claimed responsibility. "This was the first revenge for Osama's martyrdom. Wait for bigger attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan," Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan said afterwards. It is considered as the bloodiest attack since U.S. special forces killed Osama bin Laden in Quetta, Pakistan on May 2, 2011. The dead explosions occurred when young recruits wearing civilian clothes at the Frontier Constabulary training site boarded buses and coaches to go home on leave after their course. The bombing occurred in Domodedovo, 22 kilometers southeast of Moscow on Monday, January 24. Investigators believe that the attack was most likely carried out by a suicide bomber and they are trying to identify him. President Dmitry Medvedev called the bombing an attack and immediately ordered additional security at airports and transportation hubs around the country.
