A happy and social dog can bring benefits to both the owner and the pet. Who likes to see a sad and shy pup that is afraid of anything that walks past it? A scared dog needs specific training that consists of fear-free activities which are short, positive, and enjoyable. Here are 4 reasons why socialization is important in your pet’s life.

Your pet dog will have more fun outdoors

Owning a very anxious dog that’s afraid of her or his surroundings will be very difficult. You can’t take them anywhere on your travels or even common spaces in a condo like Midtown Bay, as they may exhibit unpredictable behavior. Socialization can turn a fearful pet into a happier dog who can walk around the neighborhood or park with ease and confidence.

Social dogs can get used to grooming routines

A socialized dog will be more comfortable when being groomed. It’s already difficult enough to trim an average dog’s nails or bathe them, and untrained dogs will be much harder and take longer to clean up than well-adjusted ones.

Your pooch will have less anxiety and fear

Dogs aren’t that different from humans by emotions. Just like us, dogs can fear what might be unfamiliar to them. They often hide or cower if there is something that they are unfamiliar with or scared of. You can help this problem by letting your puppy meet other dogs or people, and allowing them to familiarize with new sights, smells, and sounds.

Vet exams will be easier to get done

Unsocial dogs will be harder to treat as vet exams usually require hands-on treatment. The surroundings where these are taken aren’t familiar to our pooches, which adds more stress or anxiety to our pupsters. Socialized dogs will handle these easily, since they will be more comfortable with other people and new places.
