Many people face daily health struggles related to their job or working environment, and finding a solution that enables them to lead a happy, comfortable life at work, isn’t always possible without intervention from a medical professional.

If you’re worried about an illness, or physical or mental condition that you believe your workplace may be causing, you should seek help from a Broadgate Private GP. They can help determine what kind of approach or treatment would best suit your circumstances, and refer you for medical tests or to a mental health therapists, for example. According to your needs.

You can also try these 7 effective ways to help you combat health issues in the workplace:

1. Talk to your employer, colleagues, or both

Talking is often said to be the best form of therapy, and with good reason. Sometimes, by just communicating your concerns to relevant parties can make you feel as if a weight has been lifted from your shoulders, and you may even find that your employer or your colleagues, are able to offer you the best advice and possible solutions.

2. Think about changing your job or career

Whether it’s your job causing you health concerns, your employer, or your chosen career path in general, reviewing your circumstances and considering a change to either your job, role, or career, might be just the tonic you need to feel better.

3. Limit work-related thoughts and activities to working hours

Achieving a balance between your work and your personal life is often essential for achieving harmony between the two, and helping your health overall. Try to limit the amount of time you spend checking emails or answering calls outside of your agreed working hours, for example, and make your free time, exactly that.

4. Take short breaks more often

Taking regular breaks from your work is important in so many ways, and yet it’s something that so many people forego due to the intensity of their workload, or simply forget to take. Breaks are a legal requirement for all employees, and failing to take advantage of yours could result in exhaustion, headaches, dehydration and a whole host of other issues and health concerns.

5. Set yourself smaller goals

By setting yourself goals that are realistic, you can help to lower your anxiety levels and feel more motivated while at work. Setting goals that are impossible for you to achieve, simply sets you up for failure, and causes you to feel anxious and fearful.

6. Be more positive

Thinking positively doesn’t come naturally to us all, but there are ways to train yourself to do so, and when you’ve mastered it, you might be surprised at just how much better it can make you feel, both in work, and outside of it.

7. Build and maintain healthy habits

By doing such things as eating at the same time every day, getting enough sleep, and taking exercise on a regular basis, you can build up a series of good habits that will almost certainly be of benefit to you during your working day.

If a workplace health issue is getting you down, find a private doctor’s clinic offering same day appointments in London, and try discussing your concerns with a GP. They may suggest medication to help you combat your problems and feel healthier, or they may refer you to a specialist who can address your issues specifically and provide you with a targeted treatment plan.
