The divide between a laptop, a desktop, and mini computers has significantly shrunk over the years, mainly due to emerging tech and smaller chips and components. However, there are still some marked differences, with each having its own set of benefits and drawbacks. Consider the following when you’re ready to invest in a work-from-home setup in your Boulevard Coast condo.

The Laptop- a Portable and Convenient Device

A laptop computer’s immediate benefit is that it’s portable, meaning you can work or play anywhere. The only limitation is its battery, or how long it works before needing to plug into a wall outlet. In addition, laptops are becoming more and more expensive due to having similar specifications to a desktop computer.

Ultimately, you should choose a laptop if you don’t want to work in one place for too long. There are budget laptops that are capable of light to medium office tasks as well.

The Desktop- Powerful and Budget-Friendly

Desktop computers used to rule the landscape as they offer the highest available specs and hardware. However, they still have their advantages, namely that they’re cheaper to build. You can get a high-end desktop at half the price of a high-end laptop.

Desktops are versatile in that you can choose the components depending on the nature of your work.

The Mini Computer- Space Saver

Mini computers are gaining a foothold in the computer industry. Some are as small as a smartphone and act like a mini-desktop. Plug in your peripherals and accessories and you’ll have a WFH setup in your house. However, that small internal space means it won’t be as powerful as a desktop or a laptop.

You should choose a mini computer if you already have a mouse, keyboard, and a monitor (or two) on hand. It’s a great way to save money and start working from home.
