In a perfect world, we all live in peaceful coexistence with our neighbors. However, the reality is that most are clueless as to what a ‘good neighbor’ constitutes, or what you can do to achieve this. Here are five simple ways you can start after moving to your Penrith condo.
Keep the Noise Down at Night
Nighttime is when people usually settle down, relax, and rest for the next day. You may have had a similar experience of your own, having been woken up by a loud noise outside. Aside from keeping it down at night, you should also do the same in early mornings and weekends.
Don’t Park in Their Space
Parking in front of another house, driveway, or gate is a definite no-no. You could reason that you’re only parking there temporarily, but that’s not acceptable either. Find another spot so you won’t get angry glares and shouts from the homeowners.
Respect Their Privacy
While it may not always happen, you shouldn’t eavesdrop on their conversations or look into their windows and doors. Think about the level of privacy you’d expect from others, and give it the same amount of space.
Clean Up After Yourself in Common Areas
Common areas in condo buildings can include shared amenities such as gyms, pools, and parks, to name a few. Clean up any mess you’ve made while in the vicinity. At the same time, don’t keep the trash outside your door for a long time and make the trip to the community bin, even if it takes you a few minutes.
Proper Communication
Communication is the key to understanding and fewer conflicts. Be respectful by default and do not engage in negative talk or gossip behind their back. Lastly, you should wave or say hello when you meet each other in common areas and outside.
