Indoor plants can instantly brighten a room and provide ambiance. Plus, they’re not too costly and make excellent home decorations. When you’ve just moved into your new Faber Residence, you’ll want to make it feel like home quickly. Here’s a short guide to growing an indoor plant successfully.

Pick the Right Plants

First-time plant parents will want an easy-care variety that can withstand a bit of neglect or over-attention. You can start with a Chinese Evergreen, a ZZ Plant, or the ever-popular Snake Plant. Smaller succulents and cacti make for excellent table decoration, and they don’t take up too much space either.

Wipe the Leaves When You Have Time

Indoor plants won’t get as much light as their outdoor counterparts, but they need it nonetheless. Dust can settle on top of the leaves and make photosynthesis less efficient. However, you can wipe them down with a clean cloth or a soft paper towel to keep your plants healthy.

Choose the Brightest Spots

In order for your plants to thrive in your condo, you’ll have to give them the best spots in the house. These spots will be the brightest areas, such as windows, glass doors, and balconies. If there isn’t enough natural light, you can supplement with grow lights.

Know When to Water

Indoor plants do not need as much water as outdoor varieties. It’s a common mistake to give them too much water- they will wilt and die in a week or less if you continue to do so. As a general rule, you can see or feel the soil in the pot; if it’s still wet or moist, give it another day or two before watering.

Do Your Research

Lastly, you can learn more about your favorite indoor plant by researching online. You might learn a thing or two, such as how to propagate or make them flower.
