Basketball is one of the most played sports in the world. Initially, it had its mark in the US only, but it is now growing throughout the world steadily. Ballers from every corner of the world aim to make it to the most important basketball tournaments including the FIBA and NBA.

In Asia, China and India are notably spending money to earn their recognition in the game. Similarly, numerous basketball leagues are held in middle-eastern countries and basketball players from all around the world participate in them, so that their fans can enjoy and be entertained. Another easy way of at-home entertainment includes online betting at sites like https://betfirst.dhnet.be/en/.

Similarly European players, such as Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic, have started earning their recognition in the most competitive league, the NBA. Dreaming of the NBA is especially common among the high school basketball players of the North-American continent.

If you wanna dominate the court and make it to these international basketball tournaments, you need to have a few tricks up your sleeve. You need to be able to dribble the ball with both hands and keep it under your control. A wide range of lay-ups would help you dodge in the paint. Three-point shooting ability has also become essential. Rebounding and defensive abilities are just as important as well.

1.   Ball Control and Protection

The point-guards are mostly the best ball-handlers of any team. They have the ability to keep an eye on the rest of the players while being able to dribble the ball around. Both of their hands are equally good with the basketball and they keep the ball as low as possible to give the defender the least chance to steal.

Dribbling is important for the rest of the team players as well including the center, the forwards and the shooting guard. The more control you have on the ball, the more options you will have to make the bucket. Most of the Basketball legends had extraordinary dribbling skills including Micheal Jordan and Lebron James that began their careers as forwards.

2.   Master the lay-up with both hands

Some players can only make lay-ups with one hand which makes it convenient for the defender to stop that specific side of that player. If you can only make a lay-up with your one hand, there is a high chance you will be faced with an insulting block.

Being able to lay-up with both your hands will make you more unpredictable, and easier for you to deceive the defender. The defender would have to wait till the end to see which direction you are going in.

3.   Diversify your Shooting Range

Having a height as tall as forwards, the dribbling skills as good as point-guards and amazing dunking skills, Ben Simmons is still failing to prove himself in the NBA due to his poor shooting range. Splash Bros helped the warriors win four championships within a short span, all due to their high three-point shooting percentage.

If you can shoot, the defender will always be confused if you are going to shoot or take the ball inside. Teams that have more shooters have wider options of play-making and dominating any team.

4.   Be Eager to Grab the Rebounds

Dennis Rodman used to have 0-10 points, but he was still a key component of the 90s Bulls team as he was the best defender in the world at the time. He used to grab more than 15 rebounds on average in the league. Rebounds help the teams win championships. They give the shooters more confidence while shooting the ball.

The math with rebounds is simple. The more rebounds you get, the more chances you will have at winning the match. Importantly, for rebounds, your will and eagerness matters more than your physical capabilities.
